Medical Mobility Scooters FAQs
What different types of mobility scooters are available at AusMed Health?
AusMed Health offers a range of mobility scooters, including models from Drive Medical, Sunrise Medical (Sterling), Pride Mobility, and Pinnacle. You can also find mobility scooter accessories such as a universal canopy, rear storage options, and a rear trailer.
How do I choose the right mobility scooter for my needs (indoor vs outdoor use)?
Start with where you’ll use it most. For indoor use, look for a model that’s easy to manoeuvre in tight areas; for outdoor use, prioritise stability, comfort, and the range you need for regular trips. Always confirm key specs on the product listing before purchasing.
Are mobility scooters suitable for long-term or daily use?
They can be suitable for daily use if walking is difficult or tiring, provided the scooter fits your needs and you use it safely. If you have concerns about balance, vision, or reaction time, consider seeking advice from a health professional.
What is the weight capacity and patient size range for your scooters?
Weight limits and sizing vary by model. The best place to check is each scooter’s product page. As a guide, choose a scooter with a weight capacity that comfortably exceeds the rider’s weight, plus anything you’ll carry. This helps maintain safety and performance. If you’re between sizes or want extra stability, a larger or more robust model may suit you better.
What kind of battery life and charging duration can I expect?
Battery range and charging time depend on the model and real conditions like your weight, the terrain, and how you ride. Use the product listing as your guide. Plan for a buffer so you don't regularly run the battery low. If you take longer trips, choose a scooter designed for distance and comfort.
Do you provide delivery and setup for mobility scooters?
AusMed Health ships within Australia using Australia Post Standard Parcel and Express. Orders typically take 1–3 business days to be processed, freight charges may apply depending on the product and destination, and delivery times can’t be guaranteed. For urgent deliveries, contact customer service to discuss options and costs.
Is there a warranty, maintenance or after-sales support offered?
Warranty terms vary by brand and model. Check the product page details and keep your order documents. If you change your mind, you can return unopened, unused items within 5 business days with no restocking fee (you pay return shipping). Contact us before buying if you're unsure which model fits your needs.
