🌿 What is My Aged Care?
My Aged Care is a government initiative that helps older Australians access the care and support they need, whether that’s help with daily tasks at home, medical consumables for elderly Australians, or residential aged care options.
It’s designed for people aged 65 and over (or 50 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples) who need some help to continue living independently.
🧭 How Do I Get Started?

Call or Apply Online
Start by contacting My Aged Care:-
Visit myagedcare.gov.au

Or call 1800 200 422 (Monday to Friday)
They’ll ask a few simple questions about your current situation and health. You will also be asked to complete an application.

Have an Assessment
Depending on your needs, My Aged Care will arrange for:-
A Regional Assessment Service (RAS) for lower-level support, or
-
An Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) for more complex needs or residential care

Receive a Care Plan & Funding
If eligible, you’ll be approved for services and given a Home Care Package or Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) funding.This is where you (or your care coordinator) can start choosing providers – including ordering consumables like continence products for elderly with aged care support, wound dressings, and mobility aids from trusted, approved My Aged Care suppliers like Ausmed Health.

If you're working with a Home Care Package provider, a case manager, or support coordinator, you can:
